NovaCare Rehabilitation Announces the Launch of their STAR Program®

MONTICELLO, MN – Even the best cancer treatments can sometimes cause debilitating side effects. Inspired by the premise, NovaCare Rehabilitation today announced that 10 of its locations in Minnesota have obtained a special certification to specifically help cancer survivors. Known as the STAR Program^® Certification, the new designation allows qualifying NovaCare Rehabilitation clinics to offer premium oncology rehabilitation services.

To qualify, each clinic successfully demonstrated it could combine conventional medicine with an evidence-based, standardized model of oncology rehabilitation service, successfully implement a program evaluation and implement new treatment protocols and rehabilitation training. Through the certification, patients will benefit from new services covered by health insurance providers. The new services will be delivered by clinical staff trained in how to help survivors of all forms of cancer.

Through the new program, specialized caregivers from a pool of disciplines – including physicians, physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dieticians, mental health professionals, and others will work together to help patients. The treatment teams will jointly create and implement personalized rehabilitation plans to increase strength and energy, alleviate pain, and improve daily function and quality of life.

The 10 locations earned the STAR Program Certification from Massachusetts-based Oncology Rehab Partners, a leading expert in cancer survivorship care.
